Pura Luhur Andakasa

In the structure of the Gods Nawasanga, Pura Luhur Andakasa a monument or stana Hyang Brahma which controls the southern region, the manifestation of Hyang Widhi who inhabit the nine cardinal directions. Judging from its name, Andakasa reminds us of the word akasa, which means sky or heaven. This temple was standing at the majestic height of 200 meters above sea level, precisely located at the geographic position of 8 degrees 30 latitude and 115 degrees 30 east longitude, the region Angantelu Indigenous Village, Manggis District, Karangasem regency.


            To reach this temple we should walk away with a slightly uphill, along the overgrown nature of natural shade trees. From the above we can see the beautiful panorama. If the view is directed to the south visible or Padang Bay and Labuan Amuk stunning. From Denpasar, to reach this temple we have to travel about 60 miles to the east, or 20 miles east of the city Semarapura, the capital of Klungkung regency.

            This temple was built So far it's remains unknown.At some sources of papyruses heritage and archaeological relics,very less informations about this temple. From the relics of the instructions written there, this temple was founded by the MPU Kuturan around XI century.the temple was allegedly closely associated with Hindu religious leaders SangKul putih.             There is an inscription in the Pura Pura Luhur Panyimpenan Andakasa such as expressed in a book published Pura Luhur Andakasa culture of Bali Province Office-In this temple there is an inscription which is made of sheet copper (tambra inscription), a length of 25.7 cm, width 6, 7 cm and 0.2 cm thick.             Based from the letters of papyrus,the inscription was probably written around the XIII-XIV century AD or similar letters painted and carved inscription on fifteenth century AD. The contents of the inscriptions, according to the book is not directly related to the presence of Pura Luhur Andakasa.

While the various mentioned Pura Luhur Andakasa ejection status as one of Kahyangan Jagat. That means the temple is a place of worship for all Hindus.

Red Color
